How VMS Works:

  • VMS ties together hiring managers in an automated process for matching people to needs.
  • A manager accesses VMS through his or her web browser and completes a request, specifying skill requirements, time table, price range and other information.
  • The request is reviewed by MIDCOM's vendor manager who distributes it to the vendors who participate in the VMS System.
  • Vendors receive email notification of the incoming request. They review it, complete the electronic fact sheet and submit resumes of candidates who can fulfill the request as well as their pricing requirements.
  • Hiring managers receive email notifications to review resumes and indicate their decisions through the system. While the decision process is under way, vendors can monitor the status of their submissions.
  • Once the candidate is selected and working, VMS provides a vehicle for time reporting so that the managers can approve time and vendors can review performance, and invoice information.
